A world where science, logic and empirical evidence prevail,
there is little space left for destiny, hidden forces, magic or how ever you
want to call it. And this is a good thing, to use reason to demistify old myths
and to try explaining the world around us using laws of nature. It may be
pleasant to believe in angels and saints and beings of secret realms, but more
important question then „what feels good“ is definitely „what is the truth“.
Beliefs that only serve man's imagination and needs have no place in building a
world where reality is respected and put into first place.
However,
there are plenty of people stating that they saw, experienced, touched
something that is indescribable by laws of nature. These are people of all
nations, all religions. Look at them while having a placebo effect in one corner of your mind and human inclinations
to exaggeration and lies in another, and you will easily filter out most of
them as unauthentic. But, you will have some left; you will find people's experiences
that can't be put anywhere in science books.
I don't
know if I'm one of them. Maybe I am somewhere in between. But even in my brightest
days of agnosticism that were also the darkest moments for my personal religion,
I experienced events that occasionly turned on a red button in my mind: MAYBE,
MAYBE MAYBE...
When I
started praying again after these events, praying with a hope, not belief, that
there is something out there, and in the same time hoping that if there isn't I
will not get crazy, I started to experience more of these events. I prayed once
a week at most, and my prayers were regulary followed by small events. Nothing
special, exept that they were perfectly timed, every time.
This
won't make a believer out of me, but this will leave a possibility that maybe
not all is lost from my previous life of person of faith. It seems that people
in general can have experiences concerning the laws unknown to science. These
experiences...I just don't know where to put them or what to do with them.
